Join us for a long, relaxing weekend on Catalina Island.
We will have one sail boat (42’ Catalina OR 44’ Beneteau) and you have the option of sleeping on the boat (limited to 4 sailors) or staying in the Hotel Atwater in Avalon.
There will be a sail each day for all.
There is no shortage of bars and restaurants in Avalon and we will experience as many as possible.
ITINERARY:
Thursday morning ~10 am: We will set sail from Newport Beach. The sail is about 26 miles and takes about 4 - 5 hours depending on the wind. Lunch and liquid refreshments will be provided over and back.
(You can take a high speed ferry if you don’t want to sail over (~$70 rt)).
Friday morning: You can rent a golf cart and cruise the island, play golf, go out on the Extreme Cape Canyon Expedition, scuba dive or snorkel, tour the casino, perhaps zip line, go to the beach or just wander the town. The day ends with a sunset sail, wine and beer included.
Saturday morning: We start with mimosas and sail to Two Harbors for brunch at the West End Galley. Afterwards, a short hike for pictures from the spine of the island. Midafternoon, we sail the high seas if the wind is up, or find a cove, anchor & “socialize,” wine and beer included.
Sunday morning: We set sail back to the mainland. We expect to be driving home by 1pm, and back in PHX by 7pm.
